Choose Love not hate

Why do we give “hate” so much time? Hate is such a strong word and it’s being spread around the world so much these days. Why are we giving it so much power? We give it so much fuel, that the terrorists, evildoers & careless people love it and they feed on it. They want you to live in fear, be angry and sad. It’s what they want you to do. They want to see people start spreading more hate. When what we should really be doing is spreading love and not living in fear, rather than thinking that I could be killed today by some act of evil hatred. Love is powerful and the world coming together. Not living with hate would really annoy them.

But media have a lot to do with this as well. We want to know & rely on the news, but by giving these people air time and labelling the terrorist with a religion and giving them a face, leads them to having power. Not every Muslim is a terrorist. It’s just like saying all Australians are racist which is simply not true. Unless you meet and judge every single Australian, which is near impossible, the most you can say is “oh, that Australian is a racist” or “those Australians” were. It really annoys me when people do this.

I have been watching what is going on in the US right now and I am disgusted. The day after Trump gets elected as the President, so many things started to happen. A lady’s burka got taken off by another lady and said this is not allowed anymore. So much graffiti all over many places with the swastika on it. KKK white power movement is strong.  So many horrifying things are going on. I ask the question, “What’s going to happen if this keeps on going?”

I have also read that someone has told Jewish people that the train is coming for them and that they are going to get gassed. This is disgusting! It makes me feel sick and sad that people are doing this. Our leaders need to start taking a stand and declaring “This is not right and that it needs to stop now!” Trump, I am looking at you and telling you right now, that as the leader, you need to set an example for your country and tell them to stop the hate. America needs to come together and live as one and to make the US a better place.

I feel so sad, that all I want to do is cry that so much hate can pick up within the space of a couple of weeks. No-one wants to see another war, nor another leader like Hitler who hates anyone that is different and not a white person. My heart breaks for those people who are different and now live in fear.

I know what it is like to be judged harshly, to go home every day in tears because not only am I a big person, but I have always been different. I have looked at the world in a different way. I see things a lot different to everyone else. I’m also in the lower income range and I have two incurable diseases which puts me into the disability range. How would I go if I was in the US right now after reading what trump stood for? I know he has changed some of his policies from before the election and I hope it stays that way. Donald I hope that you don’t discriminate, build a wall or continue letting this hate happen.

My bullies had power and they knew it. It’s funny how that now I’m an adult, not one of them have come to me and said sorry. In fact they’re still those kind of people that continue to laugh and whisper whenever they see me. You would have hoped that these people would have grown up to be different people by now, but they have not.

To the world leaders, please don’t allow this hate to happen and spread further than it already has reached and become a world war. You have all our lives in your hands and I would like to know that you will stand up to this kind of hate too and not make us go to war if it gets that bad because of it.

To the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and the Australian government, please legalise same sex marriage. 95% of Australia want this to happen. This leaves 5%, but I would say it’s a lot less than that, who don’t want this to happen. It needs to happen especially now that hate is at its worst. We need to come together here in Australia and look out for our own. This would be a step in the right direction for Australia. I am all about leaving a long lasting legacy. John Howard will always have the gun law legacy and he made one of the best decisions the Australian government has ever made. Now it’s time for you to do the same thing and change these laws. Don’t ask us to vote for it, just change it!

Yes the gun laws have worked in a lot of positive ways but the fact is our domestic violence and sexual assault are still alarmingly high and we need to change this fast. There’s a reason women don’t do anything or say anything because we are afraid to speak up which causes so many people to get away with it. Donald Trump is one prime example of this. He got elected when so many women made claims about it and whether these stories are true or not, it really needs to be investigated. Those comments he made were disgusting. I really hope he doesn’t believe that he has the right to grab any women he likes and do that. It sends out a signal, letting men think they can actually get away with this but it’s not ok. It’s never ok to do this. And if you are in this mind set, please think of your own children, daughters, partners, sisters, mothers, aunts and cousins because these are the people you are saying that this is ok to do this to. I hope that every woman and little girls growing up know that they have a voice and they have the freedom to say “NO!” They have the right to say NO and a choice to change their minds to NO. NO means NO.

I am standing up for those who can’t and those who are in fear of speaking up. I am lucky to be a woman in a country that allows me to vote, have a voice and freedom of speech. There are so many women around the world that don’t have the same rights as us and I am standing up for them.
As a woman I will stand up and say we want to be able to live without the fear of being attacked or raped. We don’t want to be objectified and treated like we are a piece of meat. We want to be treated equally in all aspects of life.

If we weren’t meant to be gay, straight, black, white, any religion, have our own appearance or be different, we wouldn’t have been born the way we are. We were all born to be different. For a long time I thought being different and unique was wrong and a bad thing, but now I embrace it and I love it. I know that I will always be my own person and not be a follower. I beat to my own drum, I have my own belief and voice. I stand up for what I believe in and I like what I like and I am not going to let anyone change that. If I want to change my views it will be my choice.

If you feel that you need a boost and a reminder of this, watch Roman Atwood vlogs on YouTube. He always ends with you are beautiful, one of a kind, you are unique, SMILE MORE. I love this… His brand is “Smile More”. They want you to smile more and be positive and good. Another YouTuber worth watching is Lilly Singh (aka iisuperwomanii). She has started the Girl Love Movement which I find amazing and needs to happen. It’s about spreading love to girls and not hating on each other and just being nasty, mean and name calling.

My friend Casey Barnes has a song called Live As One which he co-wrote with Rick Price and this song is in need right now. We all need to start living as one and getting along. One of the main reasons I love being Australian and living in Australia is that it’s multi-cultured. We get to live in a nation that has so many different cultures that we can explore and experience and yet a lot of people won’t do it. They refuse to do it. Get out and learn and experience it because most of you just judge and don’t understand or simply don’t want to and you are missing out on a lot.

No one was born a racist or judgemental. It comes from our upbringing, our cultures, religions, what we watch on TV (news, TV shows and movies), video games and people around us. The thing people need to remember is that kids hear and see things they shouldn’t. They are always watching and listening, even though you don’t think they are and they pick up on it. They then think that it’s ok to do and say those things because they heard you say it or saw you do it.

At the end of the day you always have a choice, yes or no, up or down, left or right, give up or don’t give up, get back up or don’t get back up, spread love or hate, be positive or negative, live in fear or contentment and many more. I chose not to hate. I could be that person with what I have personally been through but I would rather spread love and be a better person. I can see how people get to a point where they can’t go on anymore and end their life or give up and I can see how people have had enough and think that violence and or shooting people is an option, but I don’t think it’s ever an option. I would never do something like that. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

My message to the world is stop making people feel less than they, undervalued, unloved and not worthy of life. Bring back the love and spread it. We have the rest of our lives to live and I would rather live in harmony than a world full of hate, negativity and wars.

We have a responsibility to the future generations to make this world a better place for them, make sure we keep the world turning and keep our loved ones safe. We also have the responsibility to make sure our environment is kept clean. The world’s animals don’t have a voice, but they need to be taken care of and not beaten or killed for no reason. It sickens me seeing on the news, so many innocent animal’s lives are being taken. Kicked & abused for the sake of it, left for dead on the sides of the roads.

Again I call out to the Australian government to make sure that all of our animals, especially our native animals, are taken good care of. More funding needs to be allocated towards the breeding and wellbeing of our koalas, kangaroos, wombats, Tasmanian devils and so many more. The last thing we want to see is these animals becoming extinct.

To conclude, I request the same goes for the Great Barrier Reef. We need to take action and stop the damage that is being done to it and try and fix it, otherwise it might be too late and we will have totally destroyed this magical wonder for our future generations and our world’s visitors. I can’t imagine Australia without our incredible reef or our lovable animals. These are some of the many wonderful reasons why tourists visit Australia and as well as it being very important to our economy and our country, it is equally as important to us as responsible Australians.
